Tosor Gorge

Tosor gorge is located in the Terskey Ala-Too ridge on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul lake. Along the gorge goes a road which is connecting Issyk-Kul and Naryn oblasts.
The gorge is known for its pass (3893 m) leading to the Kichi-Naryn valley and the Naryn region. Over the pass you can get to the Jyluu-Suu hot springs and Teshik-Kul lake. This is not the only high-mountain pass accessible for cars on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul leading to the southern part of the country but perhaps the most popular among tourists.
Nature in the Tosor gorge is diverse. The lower part of the gorge narrows very sharply, forming picturesque rocky canyons, the river flows here makes cascades forming small waterfalls and the road cuddling, add impressions. This part of Tosor is full of sea-buckthorn and other vegetation. Then after about 5 kilometers the maximum narrowing the road goes into a fairly wide mountain valley through a picturesque rock gate that adjoins each other almost closely.
Then there are three roads: to the right to the Bokonbaevo village along the beautiful mountain road past the Kaji-Saz village and a small pass.
The road to the left is very short and leads to the local forestry. There is a very beautiful nature a dense forest and just above the alpine meadows.
The third road goes straight up to the pass. At an altitude of about 3000 meters there is another turn leading to the neighboring Tamga gorge.
There are many tourist routes in the gorge. This is a good place for one-day walks and picnics at nature.
