Route: Bishkek city – Cholpon Ata city – Chon Ak-Suu valley – Karakol town – Altyn-Arashan valley – Djety-Oguz valley – Tamga village – Arabel pass – Kochkor village – Son-Kul Lake – Bishkek city
Level of difficulty: there is not a lot of physical exertion throughout the journey.
The classic program includes visits to three regions of the country: Chui, Issyk-Kul, and Naryn.
During the tour you will get acquainted with the life of nomads, with the cultural heritage and nature of the region. The tour begins with a visit to the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bishkek. Its population is more than one million people. Bishkek is located in the Chui Valley. From the city in good weather you can see the tops of the Kyrgyz ridge.
The first day will be a mountain hike in the Ala-Archa Nature Park, located 42 kilometers from the city. Further on, you will be transferred to Issyk-Kul Region. On the way a visit to the Burana historical complex. Burana Tower (X-XI) is a part of the old town of Balasagun. It was the capital of the Karakhanid state. From the tower you have a wonderful view of the valley. Then we drive through the Boom Gorge to the Issyk-Kul Lake to the town of Cholpon-Ata. Visiting the museum of open-air petroglyphs and several gorges around Lake Issyk-Kul. In the Naryn region we will see Lake Son-Kul located at an altitude of 3016 meters in a valley with endless pastures. We will stop in a yurt town.
Day 1.
Airport “Manas” – Bishkek city – Ala Archa National Park – Bishkek city (130km)
Arrival in airport “Manas” (early morning arrival). Transfer to Bishkek accompanied by a great view to Kyrgyz Ala-Too Mountain Range. Accommodation in a hotel in Bishkek, having rest. Drive to the National Park Ala Archa after breakfast in the hotel. A light walk along the river Ala Archa or hike to Ak Sai Waterfall. Return back to Bishkek. Dinner in a local restaurant. Evening sight-seeing tour around Bishkek. Overnight in a Hotel. (BLD)

Day 2.
Bishkek city – Burana tower – Cholpon Ata town (290km)
Depart from Hotel after breakfast and drive along the alternative mountain road to Burana Tower, which is UNESCO heritage (11-12 century A.D.). During the excursion, we climb up 24 meters Tower and see the beautiful Chui valley and Kyrgyz Mountain Range from above. Then continue driving towards Issyk Kul Lake and pass through Boom Gorge which separates Chui and Issyk Kul valleys. Next stop for the excursion to Konorchek canyons. This walk reminds a little adventure with passing rocky steps and narrow places. The final destination of the trip is an amazing view to canyons of red sandstone cliffs. Return back to the car and drive further to Issyk Kul Lake. The combination of snowy peaks and the blue surface of the water is a business card of Issyk Kul Lake. Visit open-air museum with thousands of petroglyphs in Cholpon Ata. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight in a guest house/hotel. (BLD)

Day 3.
Cholpon Ata town – Chon Ak Suu Valley – Karakol town (200 km)
Optionally: visit yacht Club. A one-hour trip along the Lake. From the permission of the captain, you may jump into the water from the boat. Drive to the village Ak Suu and have an excursion to the Grigorievskoe Gorge. Beautiful nature, nomad’s camps, several mountain lakes, fresh air. In the car, it’s possible to drive the lowest lake. To visit the upper lakes, it’ll take 2 hours to reach them. Further way to Karakol runs along with the picturesque places. Dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight in a guest house/hotel. (BLD)

Day 4.
Karakol town – Altyn Arashan valley – Karakol town (90km)
After breakfast drive for a one-day tour into the mountain valley Altyn Arashan to the hot springs. Military car transfer, cause it’s the only way to reach the valley. When we reach the destination there we’ll see several guesthouses and hot springs, fir tree forests and mountains. We will have a walk along the valley. Swim in hot springs. Return back to Karakol. Overnight in a hotel or guest house. (BLD)

Day 5.
Karakol town – Djety Oguz Valley – Tamga village (150km)
After breakfast drive directly to the famous Djety Oguz valley along the South coast of Issyk Kul Lake. “Djety Oguz” means “Seven Bulls”. Sandy red rocks remind those animals. From other side, it looks like “Broken Heart”.
A little walk to the resort famous for its mineral water from 1932 year. Then drive further up to Canyon. Short walking there. Drive to Tamga village. Dinner and overnight in the guest house. (BLD).

Day 6.
Tamga village – Barskoon Gorge – Arabel pass – Tamga village – “Skazka” Canyon (200km)
Breakfast in the Guest House. Drive to Barskoon Gorge to visit Waterfalls. Our first stop at the memorial of the first cosmonaut Yuriy Gagarin, who had visited this Gorge. From here you may see and hike to the strong waterfall, which calls “Snowleopard’s jump”, there are also two more waterfalls “Snowleopard’s tears”, “The cup of the Manas”. Drive up to the pass. This is one of the best mountain road in Kygyzstan. It goes to the Gold mining company “Kumtor”. The high of the pass is 3800m. There is plateau mountains of eternal Frost surrounded by the mountains. There are plenty of lakes with crystal water. After a small walk drive back to Tamga. The evening is the best time to drive for an excursion to “Skazka” (Fairy tale) Canyon. It’s colorful sandstone rocks place, where you may notice characters from Fairy tales. After excursion drive back to the guesthouse in Tamga. (BLD)

Day 7.
Tamga village – Son Kul Lake (350 km)
After early breakfast drive along the South shore of Issyk Kul Lake. In Kochkor village it’s possible to take part in a workshop of making Kyrgyz carpet “Ala Kiiz”. Lunch in Kochkor. Continue driving to Son Kul Lake via Kalmak Ashuu pass. Son Kul is a high altitude lake situated in a flat and open valley, surrounded by endless pastures. There we stop in a Yurt camp. Dinner and overnight here. (BLD)

Day 8.
Son Kul Lake
Breakfast in a Yurt camp. Spend the whole day at the Lake. We may drive to visit “Manas’s fireplace” (Manas is a national Kyrgyz hero). There are 9 big fireplaces each of it consisted of 8 stones. Also possible to make a horse-riding excursion. We may get acquainted with the Nomad’s life to visit any local’s Yurt. Dinner and overnight in the Yurt Camp. (BLD)

Day 9.
Son Kul Lake – Bishkek city (320 km)
Better to start driving after breakfast. Drive passes Teskey –Torpok and Dolon, instead of Kalmak Ashuu. We’ll see a beautiful waterfall and go down the serpentine called “33 parrots”, then on the way appears Orto-Tokoi reservoir. Stop in the “Boom Gorge”. Optionally: rafting on the Chui River.
Continue driving to Bishkek. Farewell dinner in a local restaurant in Bishkek. Overnight in a guest house/hotel. (BLD)

Day 10.
Bishkek City – Airport “Manas” (35 km)
